Martin Pursch, owner and proprieter, is a native Texan. He moved to Washington State in 1973 where he enjoyed learning about fly fishing and tying flies.  He has fished all over the Western States and Canada. He enjoys all types of fly fishing whether its casting for bass and pan fish or kayaking for trout and red fish along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Martin retired in 2000 and fulfilled his dream of opening his own fly shop in the Texas Hill Country.  The Country Fly Fisher is known to be the best-stocked shop for fly tying materials.  If he's not tying flies, he's swapping stories with a new friend.  The coffee pot is always on, so come on in!
